Whowww girl you need to sort out those pores never made it to the top of my list up until last month when I was shopping for…well a magnifying mirror. A serious glare in that mirror made me realize that it was time to knock some doors, make some enquiries and buy a pore minimising primer.
Lately all the beauty giants have been churning out their silicon based formulas that act as great primers for banishing oil and diminishing the appearance of pores. The hottest addition to my beauty stash is the Micro Blur Skin Perfector from Kiehl’s. What drew me in instantly was its claim to be a skincare cum makeup hybrid that justified (in my mind) the hefty $$ I was about to shed.
In the words of its creator, Micro-Blur Skin Perfector is a lightweight skin smoother that instantly diminishes the appearance of pores and refines skin texture. It also provides long-lasting pore and texture correction. It is Paraben-free, dermatologist tested and non-comedogenic. Pheww that was some gulp!
Kiehl’s have scored a home run with their won’t clog pores claim. It feels non-congesting on the skin and is hands down the most light-weight smoothening primer I have ever used. The silky-smooth texture and the sheer flesh toned hue makes it undetectable, both on the skin and to the eyes.
I am a big fan of Kiehl’s no nonsense simplistic packaging and this one is no exception. The wrapper is spot on and the squashed size is perfect for carrying along. But it also means that one doesn’t get as much product as one would expect for the amount spent. Nonetheless it isn’t a big concern as you can get away with using as little as a pea-sized dot. During my first application, I pumped out an equivalent of my other primer and even after layering the whole of my face and neck, I still had quite a bit left on my palm. So with this one, less goes a long way.
It instantaneously casts a blurring cloud on the face, the pores are diminished in split seconds and the skin looks straightaway enhanced and well rested. The finish is rather semi- dewy and I do find myself digging my handbag, for a powder compact, during the day to keep my oily slick away. Kiehl’s do assert that it has long-term benefits and in a month the skin seems virtually flawless. Now I am not very sure about that as I haven’t tested it for a month but I am optimistic and all set to make it a month long affair to assess its potency and long-standing might.
Micro-Blur Skin Perfector feels like a quality skincare product and works like a quality makeup primer.
