Dr Dennis Gross Skincare - Alpha Beta daily Face Peel
There are two phases in my skincare timeline - Pre CH and Post CH (CH stands for Caroline Hirons). For me Chemical Exfoliation came into being after I discovered her blog. Pre-CH was a place where any concept of Chemical Exfoliation had neither been said nor heard and thus bad skin days, enlarged pores and acne was a common occurrence. So when I heard about daily exfoliation and that Lotion P50 from Biologique Recherche isn't easy to come by in Australia, I chose to settle with her second favourite pick and that is how Dr. Dennis Gross' Alpha beta Daily Face Peels ended up into my shopping cart.
My experience with these was pretty similar to Liquid Gold from Aplha-H. First few days just blew me away especially with the pore size shrinking by the hour and the very discernible clarity in the complexion after a week or so. My sincerity towards my skincare regime that included the peel pads took care of my breakouts to quite an extent.
The key to mastering the peel pads is to be considerate in use and to exercise restraint when required. You will soon know how much you skin can handle. I find that it is sufficient for me to use them once every 2-3 days because this is not the only form of exfoliation I do. I use face washes with AHAs and BHAs. Glycolic face masks are on the menu too so I tend to alternate between all forms of available exfoliators.
There are two containers of round pads: Step one is the acid that exfoliates the skin. Step two is the neutraliser that contains moisturisers and antioxidants. Now plain tap water can be used to neutralise as well but the added advantage of antioxidants is lucrative bait. Now If the pads have been lying around for too long, they would lose those antioxidants, thus it is wise to go through them quickly, place them in dark and cold area and close the lid tightly.
The pads have indeed quite a pleasant scent and the formula leaves skin feeling tight and refreshed. A good moisturises or serum must follow for optimum hydration. At home exfoliation needs SPF protection ever so more else skin's sensitivity increases.
This product has become an imperative part of my skin stash and has given real results. I will be testing other pocket friendly pad peels on the market before I return to it. Any recommendation?
