My Not So Enormous Bedside Beauty Stow
When I picked up the red-hued Hemnes bedside table from IKEA last year, I had a clear vision of how it would look and what would occupy it and now one year later, it nowhere looks like how I intended it to. It is still missing a bedside lamp which I have been pestering my husband for about a year now. Well he thinks that a lamp is not necessary and would leave less space for other things and would eventually crawl its way to his side. I think he knows me way too well so despite of making a million promises that I would be the one to switch off the lamp if I had one, he can’t seem to believe me because rarely it was me who put the lights off at night in our 5 years together.
A look at #homedecor on Instagram makes you feel as if your life and house is nowhere in this era in terms of style but I guess what matters to me most is the utility and then the aesthetic appeal. Cluttering side table with small cute-looking effects looks lovely but having to dust them off every now and then becomes quite a chore. So a clutter less side table with only the essentials is what floats my boat. Here is what lies on it at the moment -
Since the day I came to know about it, Deep Sleep Pillow Spray from This Works has a permanent reservation at this table. Glad I don’t have to spray oodles of it just yet and a few spritz last a good couple of days. I am yet to try the stronger version of this. There goes another product in the never ending wish list I have got going in my mind.
Lip de-Luscious Night Lip Treatment from Mecca – Lip Balms area a very serious topic in our household. He has his and I have mine and if it goes missing from anyone’s side table, things can get heated up pretty quickly. He uses Manuka Honey one and I am using the Lip de-Luscious Night Lip Treatment. Love the product as it stays put through the nights and the Shea and Vitamin E nourish the lips.
Original Nipple Balm for Lips from Dr Lipp – This one is like very serious about its performance. No kidding there. It goes on as a thick film on the lips and doesn’t budge no matter what do you. I use it for when my lips are very chapped. This one graces the table as they are in pretty bad shape right now.
Face Paint by Lisa Eldridge – There is always just one book on the table, which ever one I am reading and it is Face Paint by Lisa Eldridge at the moment. It is great book to wind up your day to and I am loving the history of makeup. Usually after the lights go out I keep on surfing my phone till I doze off but having a good read on the side helps to manage that unhealthy pattern.
Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter – Josie Maran does some amazing products especially her Argan Milk is one gem of a product so I recently picked up The Whipped Body Cream from Mecca Cosmetica. The texture is lovely and smoothening but the fragrance just doesn’t work for me.( I think meant to pick up the Vanilla one and picked the citrus one instead). But got to use it so …
L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream – As I wind up my day before hitting the bunk, I moisturise my hands with none other than this. This is the only hand cream that I use and don’t even bother to look elsewhere.
I have been adoring my latest pick from West Elm, this Clover Honey candle is taking honey to a whole new level, a level I never knew existed before sniffing it. It comes in two more variants and they are next in line.
Lastly the most imperative thing on the whole table, Kleenex Tissues – I’ve got one iffy nose patched up to my face so without saying no more, a decent size supply of tissues is always needed and beautiful packaging never hurts.
The next thing to join this clan will be a bed lamp and I am already on the hunt for one…
